I’ve been researching Dihexa and am considering running a short cycle of about 20–30 days to see if it produces any noticeable improvements in verbal acuity, cognitive performance/ mental clarity. My main questions are:

Potential Side Effects – Are there any risks i need to be aware of (The more i search on it i get muddied answers)

Neuroplasticity Effects – Since Dihexa is reported to significantly enhance neuroplasticity, is there a possibility it could unintentionally “rewire” certain thought patterns, habits, or behaviors in ways that might be undesirable? I have been holding off because i want to use it during a short phase of intense study. For a one-month trial, how likely is it that I’d encounter any lasting negative changes, given the lack of human clinical studies?

When it comes to rewiring certain behaviors etc. it will likely come down to your behavior right before, during, and right after running it. If it’s as strong of a plasticity inducing agent as it’s reported to be (in the literature and few anecdotal reports I’ve heard, haven’t tried it myself) then it may reinforce whatever habits/behaviors you are doing in the time surrounding the cycle. In theory, you will be making the brain more malleable than normal, so it will absorb what you give to it in that time. So the risk is hypothetically dependent on the mental state and intentions you go into the cycle with. Use it and perform bad habits/behaviors, reinforce those. Use it and perform good habits/behaviors, reinforce those.

Since we don’t have any human trials to go off of, it’s almost impossible to make any predictions about potential negative side effects that aren’t pure speculation though. For that reason, I can’t and won’t say anything more on that. Semax (with or without Selank) might be a decent alternative if your lab rat is concerned with that, since those drugs have been researched in humans at least somewhat.

Thanks, that makes sense. Would this be the same for something like 4DMA-7,8DHF / even psilocybin (microdose). I feel like those have bumped up productivity but don't understand if the neuroplasticity effect is pronounced enough that it will change habits - what is your opinion on things like those ?

They should if used for a longer period of time. Intermittently, not so much

Main factors would be the potency of the compound in regard to inducting plasticity (which 4DMA and psilocybin are both strong), length of use, and the stimulus provided to induce change.

Neuroplasticity is heavily stimulus dependent, which is why you can learn things and change habits without the use of psychoactive compounds. The stimulus is the driving factor, but the compounds make that process easier
