You've previously discussed leveraging the dopaminergic and cholinergic pathways for cognitive enhancement and productivity. Are there any lesser-known nootropics or research compounds you've explored recently that act through alternative or novel mechanisms and show potential for boosting cognition or performance? (not the usual semax etc)
I've only recently been really digging into research compounds for cognitive enhancement, but when I find my next experiment I'll be sure to write about it.
I still feel like compounds that impact growth factors and their receptors are underrated though (BDNF/TrkB, etc). Semax is in that group, but a standout to me is 4-DMA-7,8-DHF. Super potent compound for boosting cognitive performance, especially for an over the counter supplement. One of the best (maybe the best) nootropics I've ever used. It works by directly agonizing the TrkB receptor (super niche mechanism) as opposed to increasing BDNF levels like Semax or lion's mane do.
That is pretty cool, i've been meaning to try 4-DMA have been holding off since i didnt have enough bouts of requiring max concentration (Felt disrespectful to use it for max focus of 1 hour). I have also seen j-147 but dont want to run before i can walk! For 4-DMA do you use it 5 days on 2 day off or just on days you need acute focus ?

Usually just when I want/need acute cognitive enhancement.
